This initiative, led by Calvary Cares Drop-In Center, is designed to support BIPOC-led and primarily serving organizations in delivering programs that authentically engage their communities. These organizations are central to shaping meaningful approaches and sustainable solutions to substance use within their communities.
The program builds upon existing efforts that address substance use—both directly and through the lens of social determinants of health (SDOH)—and welcomes new initiatives grounded in community voice and equity.
Priority populations include:
- People who are in recovery or currently use substances
- Individuals with language barriers or who prefer non-English communication
- People with disabilities
- Individuals identifying as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ+)
- People experiencing homelessness
- Formerly incarcerated individuals
In addition to direct program support, Calvary Cares Drop-In Center provides technical assistance and individualized capacity-building services. These offerings include training, strategic guidance, and peer-based learning opportunities to help organizations grow their impact and strengthen their infrastructure.
